Can you find me an old Dietzgen slide rule? I had a super one in
college (1967) and then they came out with those darn calculators
in about 1971.

Dear Bill,

Here's a beautifully animated slide rule:

And here's a site that includes pictures of the Dietzgen:

http://www.sliderule.ca

My grandfather's slide rule is a Keuffel & Esser model 4092,
patented June 5th, 1900.

Here's a site that follows the prices paid on eBay for such
nostalgia:

http://www.sliderules.clara.net/prices/prices.htm

The Dietzgen sliderules seem to be fairly inexpensive:

Search eBay for dietzgen and you'll see slide rules with
starting bids at $5.
