32--34 tooth cog
Hey there, I'm putting on a 34 tooth MEGA-RANGE (8-speed) cassette on
my bike. I'm currently running a 32 - tooth cog on the rear...ya think I can run the same length chain? It's only 2 teeth difference, and I'll be SURE to check the clearance (b-screw). thanks jim |

Can't say without knowing how much slack your chain has available now. Just be sure to carefully check that the large chainring/34- tooth cog combination still works - with the bike in a stand turn the crank slowly by hand and shift into the large/large combination. Even if you never plan to use that combination it should still work for the time when you accidentally try to shift into it. Otherwise you can end up breaking some expensive hardware. |
