Default ??Giant TCR Compact Crank Campy w/ Front Derailleur??

Has anyone tried a compact crankset on a Giant TCR advanced frame. Can one
lower a regular (non CT) Campy front derailleur low enough for the 50 tooth
big ring. Even if it works, will as bunch of the top of the "brazed-on"
hanger be showing. I saw a previous post by Richard Sachs and saying that
there wasn't much of a standard measurement for the braze-on and that it
could look like crap on some bikes.

TIA,

Kendall
