One Advantage of Cycling In 40 C Heat: No Attack Dogs

On a road to town there's a German Shepard that probably won't bite but he's good for interval exercise.

In the winter he'll chase a cyclist over a 100 m.

At 35 C it's 50 m.

At 40 C he runs to the fence but won't wiggle through the hole to get onto the road. The asphalt has evaporated over the years and the aggregate remaining would burn his paw pads.

Anything above 40 and the dog makes no appearance whatsoever.

Same for the alley cat. He lloves to roam but if you open the door for him when it's above 40 C he'll look out for a few seconds, get really gloomy and slowly decide it's too hot. He'll then meow a few times in protest blaming you for the weather.

For cats and dogs, even Chihuahuas, 40 C is the limit.

For humans I guess the limit is near the same.
When I was younger (and stupider) I remember one afternoon riding home
from work when the temperature was 44 C. The wind on my face was like a
hot blast from an oven.
The trip home took 45 min (normally 35min) and when I arrived home I
immediately drank 2L of something cool before engaging brain and
deciding what to do next. I think lots of cold water, shower and
otherwise figured here.

When I went there, in the Indian I drank beer as I had bigger worries such as would there be a BP when I got back!!! It was June 2010.
