Cincinnati seeks input on Central Parkway Bikeway plan
Posted: 8:18 AM
Last Updated: 3 hours and 22 minutes ago By: Brian Mains, WCPO Digital CINCINNATI - The city of Cincinnati Bicycle Transportation Program is seeking public input for the Central Parkway Bikeway plan. The plan calls for the creation of bicycle lanes between Elm Street and Ludlow Avenue on Central to "spur the largest number of people to use bicycles, while still balancing the needs of other people who use the street," according to the city's website. Three options are presented to viewers on the bike plan's webpage at http://ow.ly/napZe to chose from for phase one, sections two and three of the project that run from Elm Street to Liberty Street and Brighton to Marshall avenues. Those options include a single bicycle lane on each side of Central Parkway, and a two lane bike path on one side of the roadway. Also included in one plan is a "cycle track" that establishes a physical barrier between car and bicycle traffic. Phase one, segment one that runs from Elm to Liberty streets will consist of a single lane cycle track, according to the website. For more information about the Central Parkway Bikeway plan, and to submit your input, visit http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/bikes/n...arkway-bikeway. Input is also being sought on a re-striping project of Delta Avenue in Hyde Park and Mount Lookout that would add a bicycle lane connecting existing bicycle lanes to downtown. Input can be submitted to that project he http://www.cincinnati-oh.gov/bikes/n...iping-project/ .. Copyright 2013 Scripps Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
