Maybe he was defending himself from an assault. Or did that never occur
to you? But rush to judgment. That is what you are good at.

If he was protecting himself, he would [not] be in jail for infllicting
injury and damage to persons and property.

Anyone can charge anyone with anything. In any event, it was two against
one. Let a trial and a jury sort it out.

You make that sound like a good thing. LOL Pity the poor schlub whose
job it is to mine those posts for evidence of Vandeman's inability to
reason. Maybe the prosecutor will print out the most damning bits and
wheel them into court ala Hannibal Lector. :-)

There is nothing wrong with Mr. Vandeman's reasoning. Au contraire, it is
the idiot mountain bikers who are forever displaying a lack of reasoning
ability.

So you align yourself with a man who assaults people with a hand saw? Is
that the case? Do you have the guts to answer this question? If so, you are
an even bigger idiot than Mike.

I align myself with the only person on these newsgroups who has a brain in
his head. You should try to get one yourself. As it is, you are almost too
big an idiot even for me. I said "almost", but my Greatness allows me to
stoop as low as a snake in the grass, which is what you are.

Moi-
You are attempting to argue with a dude who refers to himself as "The
Great". Eddy D. is not trying to debate you - he is trying to goad you
into responding to his carefully calculated inflammatory comments.

i thought mike was for off limits wilderness for everyone! Wilderness
without human touch. why was he on that dirt path to begin? Was he
violating wilderness after years of preaching about it being off
limits and years of traveling by plane (ruining air quality) to
environmental conferences and protests (which included driving to
these events polluting the environment) and working so hard against
people and companies that violate wilderness (after working for a
utility company that he knowingly disrupted acres and acres of
environmental wilderness). Just confused until i remember he is a
hypocrite in every sense. Maybe he can be born again while in prison,
appreciate nature for it's joy of walking and beauty, all outside of
the internet. The shock of jail shouldn't be too confining for him as
the only time out of his computer room over the past ten years has
been spent violently harassing people on trails (or as he says in the
wilderness that should have no human touch which is where he engaged
in threatening and violence).

If it was me, I'd be very carefully examining that trail for traps,
trip wires, etc., before travelling it. Especially at any places
like corners, gullies, steep parts, etc. Mikey in the woods
carrying a hand saw? That looks about as suspicious as
a puppy beside a pile of pooh.

And if I did find such traps, I'd be pointing them out to the cops
beffore touching them. Hopefully leaving somebody there to
guard them so that nobody else fell into them.

Hiking trails are for hikers and not for anyone else. Now perhaps you
understand why Mr. Vandeman and I are geniuses and all the rest of you are
idiots.

A genius would be not be sitting in jail, another genius would
recognise that aforementioned fact.

I recognize that the mountain bikers were riding their bikes on a trail
where it was prohibited. How is it that something so simple as that escapes
your observation? Or are you perhaps a criminal mountain biker yourself.
Maybe you are the one who should be sitting in jail!
