A Quarter of Drivers Speeding...
.... remarkably, they actually got away with it.
'Police confirmed around 24,962 drivers were warned about their speed out of the 94,912 that passed the automatic number plate recognition camera in its first week...' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3496518/Speed-camera-catches-25-000-offenders-week-installed-quarter-drivers-road.html 26% is in fact a conservative figure. My own studies have allowed me to observe the rate of speeding among psychopaths as 78.8% on 'A' and 'B' roads, and 89.4% on motorways. I suspect that the camera in this case was badly set up, so that the psychopaths saw it and were able to brake sharply before it measured their speed. Or perhaps they were texting their mates to tell them they'd be late for the barbecue, and inadvertently took their foot off the accelerator a bit. Hmm. I wonder how many of those #bloodyclists speed (even though they can't) going through Richmond Park... -- john smith |MA (Hons)|MPhil (Hons)|CAPES (mention très bien)|LLB (Hons) 'It never gets any easier. I drove through a 50mph zone for motorway working today and was passed by 100% of traffic, including lorries. |

Or when you've got a speed which over-reads (as most do). NB: Roadwork cameras are usually set to calculate *average* speed. |

Well, when one fails the driving test, all one is qualified for is cycling. I am so glad that you have seen the error of your ways in claiming that only those in possession of a driving licence are 'drivers'. Same as when someone gets breathalysed. They go from being a qualified driver to being a cyclist (for which no qualifications are needed). Really? That's interesting. Get breathalysed and you're no longer a driver? Remarkable. -- john smith |MA (Hons)|MPhil (Hons)|CAPES (mention très bien)|LLB (Hons) 'It never gets any easier. You just get faster' (Greg LeMond (1961 - )) |
