There might be something in that.

But you have to ask yourself why that would be...

That didn't take long.

Like I said - no stone will be left unturned for their own.

And they were arrested, whereas those who knock off cyclists by
dangerous driving and flee the scene are often (if the police even
bother to go and look for them) given "words of advice".

Often because the cyclist had already behaved inappropriately in some
way which could be considered to have started it, also there may be
insufficient evidence to make prosecution of the case unlikely to succeed.

If anyone knows where 'g.odonnell' lives, please do what needs to be done.

Look on the bright side: this is a _spectacular_ own goal by the police and
the CPS (the latter since I don't doubt that the CPS will charge for
attempted murder). It basically hands British cyclists _carte blanche_ [1]
to administer justice yourselves.

No cyclist in the UK should venture abroad unarmed, as from now.

[1] Nugent: that's French, by the way...

Deliberately ramming any road user - whether a cyclist, driver,
pedestrian or motor-cyclist and whether or not a police officer - should
be an offence.

Exactly.
One of the things which make bicycling such an enjoyable means of
transport is that most motorists do not want to *deliberately* ram a
bicyclist.

That can't be right, Peter.

Both Mason and Glug have avouched the opposite, so that seems to settle
it, surely?

That seems appropriate given the circumstances. It's still a lot more
than they'd bother with if he'd been a civilian.
