Hi,

Anyone remember if Campy six speed rear hubs were 120mm or 126mm ?

Thanks

126, though you could run a SunTour "ultra-6" (narrow) on the 120's

Not just Campagnolo but rather all hubs:
Five are 120, six 126 with standard FW.

With 'suntour ultra' freewheels 120 is six
With non-suntour-ultra freewheels, six is 126mm.
With all freewheels, seven is 126 mm

5 / ultra-6 120mm ~ 23 mm of freewheel space (5.3 * 4 + 1.85)
6 / 7 126mm ~ 30 mm of freewheel space (5.0 * 5 + 1.85)
8-speed 126+ ~ 31.5 mm of freewheel space (4.8 * 6 + 2.00)
(sachs made 8-speed freewheels - but axle failures were very common)

A great source for understanding freewheel and cassette spacing is
Sheldon Brown's "sprocket spacing" tables :

Perhaps the most important things to remember is that cog widths
didn't change noticeably (~1.8 - 2.0mm) from 5-speed to 10-speed
(EXCEPT for shimano 10-speed, 1.6mm) - the spacers have simply been
getting thinner and the sides of chains have been getting flatter, so
that more cogs can be squeezed into the same amount of space.
