Or is it just cos there was more media coverage and more potential
votes in being seen with a rugby team? Is the right answer. Cheers, helen s --This is an invalid email address to avoid spam-- to get correct one remove dependency on fame & fortune h*$el*$$e**nd***$o$ts***i*$*$m**m$$o*n**s@$*$a$$o* *l.c**$*$om$$ |

So Tony Blur has sent conratulations and is offering to wine and dine
the ruby team. Ok so they won the match, but what about others who have succeeded in their sport Nicole Cooke, David millar et al. Or is it just cos there was more media coverage and more potential votes in being seen with a rugby team? Martyn |

Martyn Nothing to do with them being the "England" rugby team and not the "British" rugby team would it? Let's face it, "Brits" win loads of stuff "England" virtually nothing. -- Tina |

Rugby normally has incredibly low TV viewing figures, but the fans are all ABC1s so the advertisers love it. |

In article ,
says... Ok so they won the match, but what about others who have succeeded in their sport Nicole Cooke, Welsh( British?) not English! David millar Scottish ( British?) not English! When I read the original post, I have to say I didn't read it as anyone trying to claim Nicole or David as English. But rather as people from Britain (the Welsh & Scots part in the case of Nicole & David) who *have* got to the top of their tree in thier chosen sport, but simply and entirely possibly due to the fact their chosen sport isn't recognised in the British press as being anything of note, that there is little PR value to No10 in inviting them to dinner. Hence the hypocracy of No.10. After all, even the English are from Britain, and B.Liar is a Scot (born in Edinburgh). So what say you, perhaps we have a Scot trying to claim the English rugby team for Scotland ;-) Cheers, helen s --This is an invalid email address to avoid spam-- to get correct one remove dependency on fame & fortune h*$el*$$e**nd***$o$ts***i*$*$m**m$$o*n**s@$*$a$$o* *l.c**$*$om$$ |
