The wierd bikes multiply
Target's website is listing a 26" chopper-style bike now. It's only
rated for riders up to 230 lbs (sorry, Chalo, you'll just have to build your own) but it's available off the shelf from a major retailer. http://tinyurl.com/afbz5 And some wonder why bikes aren't taken seriously. OTOH, there is something to be said for the observation that anything which gets non-negative publicity for bikes is *potentially* a good thing. -- Typoes are a feature, not a bug. The wierd bikes multiply
I was at Target the other day buying the typical items like dog
sweaters, toothpaste, and socks and checked out the bikes, hoping to see a half assed hybrid or better, but they've gone back to stocking only $89 uber crap mtbs for adults, nothing else. At leat Wally World, bless their evil souls, offer a decent path bike (well as good as $150 gets ya) with smooth tires and a chainguard. That chopper is horrendous, but Costco does does a cruiser/chopper that if you replaced the bars with Nitto Priest, would be fairly cool. It doesn't have the back breaking riding position and would be a good coffehouse ride. $150 or so. Being from Costco, you can just bring it back when it breaks. Didn't see it on the website, but they've got it at my local. |

As long as you're not putting them on the cat, we'll look the other way. -- Typoes are a feature, not a bug. Some gardening required to reply via email. Following the link, I stumbled into Freud, and initially read the advert's heading as 'Adult Deviant Chopper Bike'. Truth in Advertising! Hmmm. An online reviewer rates the buy at 5 stars, declaring "Awesome...I've never been so impressed with something I've bought online..." Luke |

I dunno, it costs $112 to ship, and at 57 lb shipping weight I can almost see why. I think ownership of this bike would be its own reward. |
