Santa Rosa is catching up with Florida's reputation as a two wheel
killing field. I guess it really is as bad as Bill Haluzak, of Santa
Rosa based Bicycles by Haluzak has intimated. His company has been
unable to participate in any of our

because he cannot find anyone daring enough to ride from Santa Rosa to
Napa, a distance of 40 miles. So sad........

Bad news.

I used to live and work in Santa Rosa. Stony Point Road has some pretty
fast traffic and it's only two lanes in spots. People frequently go
60-65 MPH on it.

Coincidentally, this is the road that I would take on a bike commute, as
it runs parallel to 101.

Enough with your fear mongering. It hasn't worked in the past, and
it won't work now.

The reason nobody can be found to do the "Mayors' Ride" from Santa
Rosa to Napa isn't because nobody is brave enough. It's because
nobody cares about the "Mayors' Ride".

Probably true. I live in Napa and I, and many of my friends, have often made
that ride. It's no big deal if you choose your route astutely.
