Default Pedal power replaces Petrol power

I noticed, last night, that the site of a former petrol station in Chalk
Farm, North London, now has a shiney new bike shop on it.
A sign of the times?

Wow, what a perfect setting. I know a few old petrol station sites that
have been taken over by different companies. Some have dismatled the old
forecourts, some have kept them for posterity.

Wouldn't it be great if a bike shop took over one of these sites and had
lucozade and red bull vending machines where the old petrol pumps used
to stand?!

Would be better if they had something of value to drink other than sugar
water. ;-)

As a slight aside, my local bike shop used to be a car show room.

I hear petrol's pretty valuable these days!

Well, it's only worth what someone will pay for it. If the entire
outlet has had to close down, a shrinking market for their product is
certainly one possible explanation.
