Default East Coast Greenway Tour

Today our old Hippie mailman delivered the Fall 2004 issue of whatever
they're calling American Wheelman Magazine nowadays, containing a story
of the Inaugural Tour of the East Coast Greenway from Maine to Florida.
The featured rider, Jack Kurrle stated "until more greenways are built,
bikers will have to share the roads with cars." His problem with the
prospect of sharing the road appears to stem from an incident in June
2002 described in the article as "a cycling accident", for which the
"Greenway solution" is to get cyclists off the roads as much as
possible. Not the optimal plan, one would think.

to recommend it, and, unlike other foolish crazes,
it has not died out." -- The Daily Telegraph (1877)

I had gotten the idea that Bicycle USA, League of American Bicyclists,
whatever it's called this month, was taken over years ago by fools who
mistake their phobias for common sense.

The current bunch in charge say they are "starting to gear up for the
125th anniversary of the founding of the League of American Wheelmen",
which is laughably ironic, considering what those politically-correct,
mealy-mouthed Gen-X suits have done to the League Formerly Known As
American Wheelmen.

This is the same organization that thinks that Orlando is a good place
to ride a bike.
