Handlebar web sites - ISO Narrow road bars
Hi
Looking for Carbon road bars for a short woman. Mail order/web places have popular sizes only - Worldcycling.com, Excel, etc. 40 cm is too wide for 5 feet tall. Anyone here know web sites for companies that make handlebars? I'd like web sites for Deda, ITM, Cinelli, Easton, Modolo & Thompson for stems. None of those were on Sheldon Brown's site. Ugh. Thanks, NG |

NG asks:
Looking for Carbon road bars for a short woman....40 cm is too wide for 5 feet tall First, why does it have to be carbon? Carbon bars are necessarily lighter, stronger or more durable, the last 2 being good choices in something as critical as a handlbar. Next, what does height (5 ft tall) and sex (woman) have to do with fitting a handlebar. Usually handlebar width is dependent on shoulder width, not the height or sex of a person. The mfrs of the bars and stems mentioned all have websites, you may want to do a google search for them. Finally, although they don't make carbon bars, take a look at Nitto. Rivendell has a great selection. |

All are 'anatomic' as well, meaning not great for smaller hands. Terry makes hbars in 36/38/40cm c-c. Look at these. Perhaps a wee bit heavier than carbon but fit way more important than weight.
