And some guy with a whip who _compels_ you to engage online?

Eh? I just walked away from the obstructive, truculent lout Joerg. How does that fit with your guy with a whip?

The thread
"Ultra-low pressure tubes for offroaders and other roughriders: Schwalbe ProCore"
at
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!to...RB6w%5B1-25%5D
is characteristic of what has happened to the so-called tech conference rec..bicycles.tech. I posted about a serious engineering innovation in bicycles that may just revolutionize mountainbiking and in the process skew the types of bicycles and riding that dominate the future.

But it has proved impossible to discuss the technical ins and outs. We're reduced to black magic from a pimply, faux tuff teenager with foul manners (Joerg), limpet-like faith in traditional beliefs (Ridealot, who at least isn't outright wrong, just stuck in another era), proofs contrary to the context so that the forum sideshow can catch the cheap thrill of "proving" someone "wrong" (Krygowski), tautological porch pronunciamenti from a smug nonentity (Slocombe), and just simple, straightforward incoherent needling from resident bullies (Daniels). This is the same Daniels who, as a perverse rationale for driving me out so that more people will read his foolish posts, has the cheek to claim that I post no tech!

There's not much here to engage with, Muzi; it doesn't surprise me at all that the last superior engineer we had, Jobst, was disengaging even before his accident, and didn't return here as part of his therapy when he was recovering. You can see only so much irrational crap from pushy peasants before your eyes glaze over and your patience goes.

The actual contributors of substance here can be counted on your fingers, and leave several digits for picking your nose.

What is indisputable is that discussing any technical subject here, except the most hackneyed and obsolete, is just about impossible. By contrast, on every other forum I belong to, it is a simple matter to post and discuss technical matters with those interested, without interference from the resident morons, because in most cases there aren't any. That is why I generally stick to posting technical pieces elsewhere.

well, post elsewhere then....

I doahn no abt rim retainers in cyclery. I may look but the subject is down the list.

Just caws we throw bytes at you, Andre. because you are an insufferable pig of a blowhard,, does not mean we are not considering the material.

I assume, knowing nothing abt the subject, that if the Pro tube was lighter then the riding area would see an adoption from weight lifting riders poss changing the game.

there's a Fastener Law here....

we seeing repeat tornado formations on or horizon in the great afternoon blue cloud. Cool and entertaining.

My birds are calling for dinner. The birds are incredibly communicative as the sharks bite tourists off NC. You know sharks right ! They don't

Hallelujah. I wouldn't even know the names of those chronic underachievers if they didn't constantly put themselves in my face in their futile attempt to be noticed. I can't think of an outcome more to be desired than for them to ignore me altogether.

Thanks to incessant trolls like "TibetanMonkey" and "avagadro7@gmail"
obviously the answer is Yes.

UseNet's formatting is great. The lack of censorship is great. All it
needs is the ability to block others from seeing your posts. That would
stop creeps from annoying other people. That would make UseNet
hands-down the best discussion forum on the Internet. As it should be.

Somehow Google figured out that much and implemented it on YouTube. Now
I consider YouTube to be the best place for discussion on the Internet,
even though that's not really what it's meant for, even without
threading, and even though censorship is still a possibility. I don't
know of any other forum on the Internet that blocks trolls from seeing a
user's posts. It's an awesome feature that every serious discussion
forum should implement.

Some idiot troll acts like it doesn't want to see your posts at the same
time it can't help but troll you. BOOM! It no longer sees your posts.

How Google figured it out is a mystery. I just hope they don't "come to
their senses" and think it was a mistake.

Spam is a problem too, but it's not a disgusting problem, and it could
be taken care of relatively easily.
