In Philadelphia it is safer to ride a bike than to take drugs. It is reported that in Philly "Seventy-four percent of deaths involved fentanyl." (https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/...-worth-trying/)

There are gutters in San Francisco that look just like that complete with broken concrete.

One TV this morning - GLOBAL WARMING IS KILLING US - WE HAVEN'T FLOODING LIKE THIS SINCE 1997! THE SNOWPACK HASN'T BEEN THIS DEEP SINCE 2004!!!

During the dust bowl years of the 1930's the highest temperature records were set. In 1937 thousands of people died with temperatures in New York City hitting 119 degrees. There hasn't been a single day with those sorts of temperatures since. Hemingway's "The Grapes of Wrath" explained how bad it was in the Great Plains and how a very large segment of the population moved to California. But somehow we are going to die in 12 years without the New Green Deal. Ocasio-Cortez things that turning off the power to hospitals is going to save us.

I love Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. I mean, which other 29-year-old bartender with an inadequate education (whoever gave her an economics degree should be defenestrated) gets to threaten the members of the two most powerful clubs in the world, the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives, with primary challenges. I'm no slowcoach on history, and I'm anyway professionally interested in motivational psychology, but I cannot cite one example of a charismatic dumbo who ended well. Ocasio-Cortez is well on her way to becoming the Democrats' one-woman McCarthy terror.

Well, earlier tonight I was thinking of a charismatic who ended well, but he was no dumbo: Joseph Fouche, head of the secret police under successive governments in France from the Revolution until after the royal restitution (the Third Republic) post Napoleon; he ended up as the Duke of Otranto. Robespierre tried to send Fouche to the guillotine but instead Fouche sent Robespierre for a permanent close shave; even Talleyrand, a sanctimonious **** but undoubtedly charismatic and a survivor, could never get enough of a handle on Fouche to put him down. I doubt this is the sort of history Ocasio-Cortez knows (if indeed she knows any) but sooner or later she will have ample time to reflect on the fate of overweening revolutionaries. Dzerzhinsky and Trotsky were both miles smarter than she is, and both were extreme socialists, but Dzerzhinsky choked to death on his own blood, and Trotsky had an accident with an icepick to his oversized brain.

Ocasio-Cortez couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of wreckers than the Democrats!

I must be away to my treadmill. It rained here all day long and was cold and windy besides, so I couldn't ride; I definitely blame global warming.

The fact that the entire list of Democrat primary hopefuls signed on to the New Green Deal proves that they are now the Party of the Past. I'm told that millennials are switching to the Republican Party in droves. When you are looking at the New Green Deal costing every single American $100,000 to $1,000,000 (let's recall that it is only a GOVERNMENT estimate that this could cost $300 Trillion and who ever heard a government cost estimate even get close. Ask Jerry Brown and his train-to-nowhere.

Ocasio-Cortez is already calling herself "the Boss of the Democratic Party". Apparently she thinks Tammany Hall was the finest hour of the Democratic Party. But she's giving it a Stalinist overtone, complete with a list of enemies to be dealt with.

Stalin was a mucho superior administrator, which is how come he always knew who to have executed and who merely to send to the camps.

She is a real wonder though.
1. Though telling people she comes from the Bronx she came from an upper class neighborhood outside of New York. Her New York accent is completely fake.
2. She would talk with a strong Hispanic accent. The problem was that the accent was Cuban and her parents were Puerto Ricans.
3. The highest paying job she ever had was as a bartender. Not exact a good place to learn economics with booze hounds spending the last penny they have for another shot.
4. I would suggest you go to YouTube and start looking up the videos posted by Tony Heller - he shows the actual newspaper articles totally disproving the lies about global warming. By FAR the hottest period in the US was in the Dust Bowl Years when the entire globe was aflame and Death Valley reached the highest temperature ever recorded anywhere on Earth. At the same time the largest forest fires engulfed almost the entire circumference of the Great lakes. At the same time we had a flood on the Mississippi that lasted for SIX MONTHS. And entire section along the river moved north totally changing the census counts and the social systems. The Okies moved to California which was having it's own problems. There was a tornado in a three state area that was a mile wide and killed a thousand people almost immediately after a flood! And Ocasio-Cortez who hasn't even a passing knowledge of anything that even resembles science is pushing the New Green Deal that is supported by nothing more than politicians and little more. "Give us power and we'll save you". Just 40 years ago fossil fuels were being blamed in the popular press for causing the new coming Ice Age.
