Default Before & after bike ghettos (China or Amsterdam)

Following a link :-

And the wonderful quote

"This is NY, not China or Amsterdam" !!!

=v= Marty Markowicz, the buffoonish Borough President of
Brooklyn, said something similar about Brooklyn not being
Amsterdam. Actually, Brooklyn is essentially New Utrecht
whereas Manhattan is New Amsterdam, but quite aside from
that quibble ...

=v= I wrote to Marty and told him that he obviously doesn't
know his Brooklyn history. Brooklyn is home to the world's
first greenway. When the greenway became wildly popular with
bicyclists, a dedicated lane and then later a separate dedicated
cycle path was added. So, bottom line, Amsterdam (and Utrecht,
and China, and the rest of the world) is copying Brooklyn.
