I have just started a Facebook group called, "Make helmets compulsary for
cyclists". Hope you all join so that we can push for this important piece of
road safety legislation.

Brian.

I've just started one called, "Make correct spelling compulary for
Facebook group creators".

Thanks for the laugh!

Oh I'm sure that will attract loads of members, and one or two of
them might even not mock you too much for pretending to be judith
:-)

Hello Guy - you do seem intent on mentioning me a lot - are you
missing me since you put me in your killfile?

Now tell us about this evidence that helmeted cyclists are more
likely to hit their heads and how this squares with you encouraging
your kids to wear them.

I think the correct term could be hypocrisy - but as you've pointed
out I'm not very good at English.

Did you ever find a "side comment" which you said I'd made about that
other person?

You should post it here and make me look stupid - or I guess you need
not - but then that makes *you* look stupid.

I really can't make my mind up about helmets, but the attitude of those that
oppose them on here is incredible! Suggest that they wear helmets and you
would think someone was telling them to take up prostitution.

Personally, I HAVE been saved from injury by a helmet and, on another
occasion, I nearly occasioned serious injury when a helmet would have
probably kept me a lot safer. But these days, spot me any day of the week
cycling to work with my helmet hanging from my back pack and being about as
much use as a chocolate tea pot.

Brian.

Name the people that oppose helmets. I can list a dozen who oppose
compulsion and advocate free informed choice, but I don't know
anyone who is anti-helmet.

I would say that a cyclist who believes that you cannot promote
cycling AND promote helmets is clearly demonstrating that they are
anti-helmet.
(There is also the belief in this group, that if you promote helmets -
then you cannot be pro-cycling as wearing helmets reduces the number
of people who cycle)
