Spacing your chainrings farther from the frame, e.g. with a longer spindle, puts them in a different part of the FD's arc - and causes greater rise of the FD cage between the inner and outer ring. Likewise, an FD with the same arm length but with pivot farther from the rings will give more vertical motion. These may not be options, I know; perhaps it pertains to the cause of your (unspecified) problem, though. Mark J. |
