Aptos cyclist dies in Santa Cruz accident.
A local cyclist ended up off the cliffs in Santa Cruz and died in the process.
I see cyclists hop the fence along the West Cliff Drive multi-use path to ride along trails closer to the ocean all the time. So don't know if accident, suicide, etcetera. He owned Bobcat Bicycles in Salinas and I saw his work van down in Aptos all the time but never met the man. Bummer. pH in Aptos https://www.santacruzsentinel.com/20...usiness-owner/ |

Well, nearly right: "A Coroner’s Office autopsy determined Bradfield’s cause of death was positional asphyxia," although one might argue that 'positional' in this sense has the same meaning as 'appositional' (that is, if it weren't an abnormal position, he might still be breathing) the latter doesn't seem to be a current medical term: http://howmed.net/forensic/asphyxia-and-its-types/ -- Andrew Muzi www.yellowjersey.org/ Open every day since 1 April, 1971 |

How could a single individual be appositional, i.e., positioned closely or side by side? -- cheers, John B. |

If you are aware of the mechanism it is an extremely ugly kind of death since it takes a minute or so to die from lack of oxygen. Saying "broken neck" is so much kinder to the reader. |
