Default Snowdon season closes...

Hi y'all,
been off ng for a good while due to a combination of other obligations and a
f*cked up PC, but obligations have been dealt with and PC rebuilt.
Been communing with Mr Shaun aRe on other ngs, offering solace the
damaged limb and other esoteric communiques s?
Anywhoheywhatever, as the last time I was out for a decent blast was the
first attack (crawl up ;-) on Snowdon last October - first(ish) day of the
season, I thought it would be a good idea to catch it on the
last.....mentioned this to Shaun several times and reasonably enough he's
been asking when the season closes. Finally managed to find the info again,
well hidden away for those that would shout it from the hill/mountain tops,
and here it is.....

10:00am to 5:00pm from 1st June - 30th September. Please do not cycle to or
from the summit of Snowdon.
From October to end of May - Full access.

So, end of May. Should be a little warmer than the beginning of October
ride. Last weekend of May is a bank holiday weekend, so likely to be heaving
with all sorts, making road access to Snowdonia slow and laborious and the
ride down risky. I propose the Friday before, 21 May, although this is
sometime off yet. It will give all you folks out there time to think about
it, book time off, save yer pennies and get fit ;-)
What say ye ?

Alternately, do a late August run post 5:00pm 8-P

Dave.

Would love to, but have a weekend in Vienna a couple of weeks before
and a long weekend in Barcelona scheduled for the final weekend of May.
Time and pennies are going to prevent me from attending I'm afraid.

Alternately, do a late August run post 5:00pm 8-P

Hmm, it's a possibilility...

I've briefly considered doing a few days in Wales at some point (during
the week to avoid the crowds of the weekend), and hitting places like Afan
Argoed, Betws-y-Coed, Snowdon, etc. with plenty of pies and booze in the
evenings. If anybody's interested...

Yo Bomba!!!
shame about the end of May, but hey?? - Vienna and Barthelona.
We are currently trying to move to Cornwall, with an estimate of prolly
May/June hopefully, so, to be honest, it's up in the air for me too.
Theo built himself a bike based on Specialised big hit DH frame, bomber
triple clamps and hydraulic discs, really looking forward to trying it out
but couldn't resist fiddling with it, so rear sus is currently away being
repaired :-(....
Anyways, have fun and see you again sometime, hopefully.
Cheers,
dave.

I could be talked into it, alternatively not done Hellvellyn for a few years
since the 'vomitting' incident.

A tent may too much of a burden to get up there, though...

Cheers Dave! I'll mention this to Kath and see what she thinks.
