Not very sporting: http://www.bbc.com/sport/cycling/38844632 This sort of actions have always been SOP so I wonder why the big deal is being made out of it. Remember that even in Breaking Away they had to have a scene in which the Italians knocked the American off the road. The peloton normally keeps these things inside the peloton and isn't squeaking complains the the press. By the way Andre - I was given the impression that one of my grandfathers was a Jew and upon looking it up I discovered that he was a member of the Bavarian royal family. So all these commoners can now address me as "Your Lordship". |

This sort of actions have always been SOP so I wonder why the big deal is being made out of it. This isn't SOP. It's a major rule violation and extremely bad for the sport. Remember that even in Breaking Away they had to have a scene in which the Italians knocked the American off the road. Um...yeah. That was a movie - It wasn't real life. That said, the Italian rider didn't knock the american off the road, the italian shoved a pump into the front wheel. Are we to assume that, because you saw it in a movie, it's acceptable in real life? The peloton normally keeps these things inside the peloton and isn't squeaking complains the the press. I don't have a problem with Kittle making noise about this. I wish more prfessional cyclists would make more noise about other rules violations (and outright crimes) committed by the peloton. Cleaning up cycling has to start with the riders. |
