A lot of cops don't know **** about bicyclist's rights and that
does not give them the right to make up laws on the spot.

Find out what the law is, get it printed out, and carry it in your
back pocket. When the cop hassles you next time, be as courteous as
possible, and hand him the paper.

I guess you're assuming they teach remedial reading at the police
academy. As if any cop would read anything you presented and risk being
proven wrong. As that paragon of civil rights, Detective Fontana on
"Law & Order" often says, "It's all right, we're authorized!".

i am not a troll. The intersection is very confusing. So much that the
north side and some adjacent roads are under construction to try to fix
this mess. I am only interested in my right to cross the intersection
either on bicycle or walking and not get killed.

Steve, your overly broad brush is tarring the wrong profession. All
that stuff you see on television is the product of a *screenwriter*.

The east bond one way is Walnut Street on the left of the intersection
and 1st. Avenue on the right and the north south road is Kishwaukee St.
From now on I think I will take another route -State St.-even though I

will have to walk my bike on the sidewalk for about 3 or 4 blocks.
