The pedestrian could have been on a mobile (not unusual these days) and blindly walked out into the road in front of the cyclist and knocked him off. Then who is the victim?

Deal with the facts as known.

Not with your imaginary visions.

Exactly.
Now what FACTS to you have to support your claim the pedestrian was the victim?

An elderly man is fighting for his life after being knocked down by a cyclist.

Police were called to Bow Road in Tower Hamlets to reports of a collision involving a cyclist and a pedestrian. The man, aged in his 70s, was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital.

Officers from Met Police are now attempting to contact members of his family.

The cyclist did not stop at the scene, near to Thames Magistrates Court, following the collision at just after 5pm on Friday.

Police confirmed detectives are investigating and said the man was critically ill in hospital.

A spokesman said: "The pedestrian was treated by London Ambulance Service at the scene before being taken to hospital. "Police are attempting to inform next of kin.

"The rider of the bicycle did not stop at the scene. Enquiries to locate this person are ongoing."

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are asking any witnesses, or those with dash cam footage, to call 208 597 4874, or 101 with the reference number CAD 5779/3 July.

Blaming the pedestrian victim... a typical arrogant cyclist failing.

Assuming the cyclist was at fault, a typical Nugent failing.

Which bit of...

"The rider of the bicycle did not stop at the scene. Enquiries to locate
this person are ongoing"

...did you fail to comprehend?

Has the cyclist yet come forward in the public-sprited way you imagine
cyclists all behave?

A "Yes" or "No" will suffice.

But no... you prefer to blame the septuagenarian victim.

Which part of...

Assuming the cyclist was at fault, a typical Nugent failing

I assume nothing.

So you agree there is no evidence the pedestrian was the victim. I assume you will be retracting your previous post.

You reckon the absconding cyclist was the victim and the
critically-injured elderly and vulnerable gentleman fighting for his
life in hospital was the aggressor? Is that it?

Why do you assume there was an 'aggressor'?
Maybe the pedestrian walked into the road and the victim tried to avoid the pedestrian but just gave him a glancing blow and carried on cycling not realising the pedestrian who caused the incident needed medical help.

It appears that Bow Road has Cycling Superhighway Nr 2 running along it which is segregated and next to the footway. See.

The pedestrian may have mistakenly assumed that the pavement /included/ CS2 and walked to the edge of it without checking for cycle traffic beforehand and knocked the cyclist off. Happens a lot on the continent.

Is that why the cyclist scarpered and has not surrendered himself to the
police?

Where did I say that?

If you don't believe that the absconding cyclist was the victim, you
must be of the opinion that the injured elderly man was the victim.

We start with the scarpering by the guilty cyclist and his not coming
forward when asked to by the police.

Do you say that he failure to identify himself is a mark of innocence?

Why do you assume there was an 'aggressor'?

Observation of the demeanour of cyclists?

Maybe the pedestrian walked into the road and the victim tried to avoid the pedestrian but just gave him a glancing blow and carried on cycling not realising the pedestrian who caused the incident needed medical help.

Is that why the cyclist has not come forward to identify himself?

Perhaps the cyclist did stop, and the pedestrian, when the adrenalin had
kicked in (the pedestrian also being of the sort that is permanently
apologetic), told the cyclist, "Sorry. I will be alright in five minutes
so just carry on."

And the cyclist, like a lot of people, doesn't read the local rag or
listen to local radio.

He is also innocent until proven guilty in this country.

How do you know the cyclist is aware of all the fuss? it's not exactly national news.

Failing to come forward when requested is bit like failing to mention,
when questioned, something one later relies on in clourt.
