So which did you ride?

I would've ridden the old bike, but I believe in not doing new things
on race day and I like torturing myself with denial.. if only it
worked with chocolate as well..

Broke the golden rule of raceday and rode the new bike.
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet. Rode down to the race to give me a chance to get
used to STI, which on top of 40km ride yesterday left me a bit tired for
the race. But the bike rolled so smoothly even on that crap Boulevard
surface that I didn't feel tired till the second run, although the ride
home left me totally knackered. Didn't have the bike computer on (was
still trying to swap it between bikes at midnight last night) but I
think I was averaging about 32kmh and in a tri on my old bike I would
usually be around 28kmh, so I've gotta be happy wiht that.
God it was cold though, especially in bike shorts and sleveless top,
brrrrrr.

My race report-ish:
http://www.thehippy.net/nucleus/index.php?itemid=31

My computer said I averaged ~35kph but the results say 28kph
which must include the transitions. So, without the guy who was
disqualified for taking a shortcut and the guy who was faster
swapping shoes.. I had the fastest bike time :-)

Results:

Twas cold in only knicks and jersey.. 4degC average my
Polar reported.

4 degrees? Brrr.

As for the timing, if they used a timing chip in a band around your
ankle, then the time will be recorded on that. The positioning of the
sensor will then determine whether the bike leg included the transition
time. In your case, the answer is probably yes.

Did you run in padded knicks? I prefer the unpadded kind for short
tri/duathlons...

Ritch.

4 degrees! Brrr!

Wrist tag, manual timing, no sensors.

I'm sure it includes the transitions. There's no way I was that slow.
My
Polar says ~35kph average too which sounds closer to the truth.

Yeah. I was expecting to race a crit straight afterwards and bike
knicks
are not going to hamper _my_ running

Yep definitely included the transitions. Wrist tags were checked at the
end of the first run prior to entering the transition area, and then
again on exiting the transition area for the second run.

I wish they would make my already crap run times look worse
rather than always picking on the bike leg - the only part I care
about! :-P
