Yet another cowardly hit and run by a driver

The 31-year-old man was riding along Waterhouse Lane, Chelmsford, at 6.10pm on June 18 when he was involved in a collision with a black Vauxhall Corsa.

The car, which had driven out of Pitch and Putt, stopped briefly but no details were exchanged and the driver drove off.

The cyclist suffered broken bones in his foot, a fractured knee and a cracked rib. He underwent surgery at hospital and is recovering at home.

Police are asking the driver, or anyone who was in the area and saw what happened or has dash cam footage, to please contact Amanda Bullock in the casualty reduction unit on 101 quoting reference 960021.

....they'll be trying to point out that the person in the car (who may or
may not be a driver) will have had no reason to or suspect know that the
cyclist would be injured or that the police want him or her to come forward.

I'm sure I've got some popcorn somewhere...
