TdF radio ban?

I hear that the TdF is banning radios next year. What do you think of
this?

At first, I thought it was a terrible idea. However, cycling is a
technologically pure, and banning radios is a way to keep this
purity.

Of course you can use that logic to propose bans on certain bicycles,
food supplements, and lycra.

Cycling is evolving - thank God. Instead of fighting it, we should
just embrace it...

Sounds like you should look probably into the HPV area. UCI is
about competition of riders on defined but rather uninteresting
equipment. And cycling as such is much more than UCI anyway.

It was just a stunt, and not likely to be repeated.

Oddly enough, the lack of radios is key to the plot of the bicycling
movie "American Flyer", in which the hero is able to sneak away on a
breakaway.
