Why limit yourself to one ugly helmet when you can buy a number of
helmet covers and tailor your ugly with a moment's notice?

I believe Chalo would call those "helmet panties."

"Son, you've got a panty on your head."

So, how long have you been selling bicycle accessories?

Sorry, my mistake, the study was released on March 25, 2009. There was
an article about it published on May 9th 2009.

The study is at
"http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/Delivery.cfm/SSRN_ID1368064_code619154.pdf?abstractid=1368064&m irid=2"

There are several glaring errors in that study, most notably the delta m
he uses, and the assumption that all lost cycling is replaced with car
transportation.

The other thing he made up was the "bicycling beta" coefficient which
attempts to balance the increased number of head injuries and their
associated costs, with a predicted decrease in overall health due to
those individuals that are presently cycling at a level that provides
health benefits and that will both give up cycling and not replace it
with another aerobic activity rather than wear a helmet.

It's "studies" like this that cause local, state, and federal
governments to enact helmet laws!

Isn't this very much a matter of personal taste? I suppose what's
ugly to one person might be beautiful to another. I'm sure there are
people who would think they look very snazzy while wearing a NASCAR
roof top!
But if you want something that almost everyone would think is ugly:
1) Visualize a hat that looks so weirdly shaped that it's really
different from every other hat in the world - IOW, a shape no ordinary
hat designer would ever consider using.

[editorial snip]

3) Make it out of some odd material - say, whatever material is least
used for items of clothing.
4) Make it big, because oversized hats almost always look

^^^^^^^^^^^
hilarious.
5) And as a final test, make sure that your final design is something
that no sane person would ever wear for any ordinary social function.
You know - something that, if you wore it into a nice restaurant with
a dress coat, the hat check girl would snicker as she put it away.
Anything come to mind?

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I know! I know!

Tie Domi's hockey helmet.

cheers,
Tom

You're a freak of nature.

It is like a hat to me.

All helmets are ugly.

So just buy any helmet, and you'll get your
heart's desire.

If you want something really grotesque, look for
one of those early Bell[tm] hard-boiled egg thingies.

Stick a stoopid dentist's mirror on it to complete
the effect. Then you can be constantly turning your
head to see what cars, trucks, armadillos, roadrunners,
F3 tornadoes, flying scorpions a la Book of Revelations,
or jumping rattlesnakes are coming up from behind,
conspiring to deprive you of the pleasure of your
bike ride.

Gotta outrun those roadrunners and flying scorpions.

Where flying scorpions are involved, don't forget
ugly eyewear. I think ZZ Top did a prophetic song
about that.

Mmeep, mmeep,
