I think I see the problem. Chicago marks their bike lanes with a
solid line of green paint. In the Peoples Republic of Santa Cruz CA,
we use striped paint, which is cheaper. It also doesn't look like a
miniature golf green, which might confuse Chicago drivers.

No, but you fail anyway.
Nothing of value has ever been written on one line.

Considering the cost of installing a bicycle lane, I would think that
US currency green would be more appropriate.
https://www.google.com/search?q=miniature+golf+putting+green&tbm=isch
Notice the similarity between the color and shape of the miniature
golf putting green to that of the bicycle lane. If it's not a
coincidence, it must be a conspiracy.

My choice of color for the bicycle lane would be Bianci celeste
(vomit) green in a dazzle camouflage pattern. The induced nausea
should make everyone slow down. The indeterminate lane position
should make everyone drive more carefully:

As a Bianchi owner I have to take exception to the vomit green. It's
called gangrene. As in gang-green.

ahem.

Although 'Bianchi Celeste' has changed over their many years
( greyer, greener, blue pearl tint etc) Bianchi's color
'Gang Green' is not Celeste.

I have always liked Celeste bikes, since my youth, long
before selling Bianchis. If you want people to avoid
something I'd try that awful Legnano 'verde guano':

nice bikes, but an all time ugly color IMHO.

Dang, without dipping into the paint color controversy, was that second bike found in a time capsule -- or is that just an old picture? Except for a worn saddle, that's pristine -- what, late '70s early '80s? It almost makes me want one . . . but not quite. I would go back in time and get a bike like that so long as my knees, heart and lungs went back in time, too.
