In the News: Cyclists to give witness statements in Spanish probe
From the article:
-------------------------------------------------------------- MADRID (Reuters) - The judge leading the Operacion Puerto anti-doping investigation in Spain will begin calling up implicated cyclists to give witness statements in December. "The call-ups will go out this month but the process of collecting the statements could take a long time to complete," a spokesperson for the investigating judge said on Friday. Spanish media reported cyclists such as Italy's Ivan Basso and former Tour de France winner Jan Ullrich could be asked to give evidence. They also said national cycling federations had been given the all-clear to continue their investigations for possible sporting sanctions against the cyclists. The only information not available to the cycling bodies was evidence garnered by the investigating team as part of the criminal case against the doping ring. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Read it at http://ca.today.reuters.com/news/new...archived=False or http://tinyurl.com/yje2xk J.
