Thank the Lord that I am not a normal person.

There is no way anyone could describe you as normal.

How?

By paying an annual fee. We could call it 'Road Tax'. It could
cover
the cost of compulsory registration plates for cyclists and ensure
they
were insured and properly regulated.

Then, if cyclists demand special features on roads, the tax could be
increased to cover the costs and stop them mumping on others..

I reiterate, cyclists *aren't* requ to pay road, they ride on the
roads
legally.

But they SHOULD be made to pay their way.

*How* can they pay road tax if it's not a requirement?

It SHOULD be a requirement.

You are just basically whingeing.

Basically wanting sponging freeloaders to pay for things they use.

They are abiding by the tax laws. *Why* are you having a go at
cyclists?
It's the government that you should be moaning about.

Because cyclists are road lice.

You're another Mr Pounder.

Both gentleman are pretty certain to take that as a compliment.

I did :-)

Did you mean it as an insult?

Wel, of course motorists only use public highways by permit, not right
- so conditions can be imposed on them to contribute towards the
damage, pollution, wear and tear, carnage, policing, community
destruction, and so on that they cause.
Only non-motorised vehicles, equestrians, and pedestrians enjoy a
right-of-way on public highways, and as a right, it cannot be charged
for or made conditional, any more than your right to vote, emmigrate
(if you can find a country willing to have you), or many other things
which are rights. Without such rights-of-way basic human rights such
as freedom of association and religeon, access to food, etc would be
infringed.
Motorists should regard themselves as extremely fortunate tha they are
even permitted on public highways despite the clear and continuous
danger to life and limb that they impose and the filth that they spew
from their engines, and even more fortunate that such use is subidised
by the taxpayer, even those taxpayers that choose not to use motor
vehicles.

£46 billion a year in taxes. £10 billion spent of roads. What a subsidy!

It's entirely possible for the whinging motorists to build their own
network of roads (they could call them "motorways"), paralleling the
public highways (as long as they didn't interfere with access to those
public highways), and stay off ours.
Oh, hang on a minute. . .

Hand on a minute - we already have. Now the sponging, freeloading
cyclists want to use them as well.

Not sure where you get your 'jealous' thesis from - Handyman Research? :-)

Handyman complains that there is no specific tax to use a bicycle on public
roads so has this idea that people taking this choice have joined some sort
of priviledged club that he is excluded from.

It's like talking to a child.

Being a cyclist isn't a privileged, it's a social & mental disability.

Common sense excludes me from this sub culture called cyclists.

As a motorist, I don't mind paying for facilities I use. Cyclists should
do the same.

Explain how they can pay tax when they don't legally have to?

I've already said this several times, please try to keep up.

Cyclists SHOULD pay. We need the law changed. Vote UKIP.
