CXP-22 rear is out of true
The mavic CXP-22 that came with my merida T3 fitness bike have
developed a wobble. It seems to have a cross-1 lacing (2 neighboring spokes cross). Seems to be laced with gauge 14 spokes. I was planning to put 700x32 rubber back on for cross when CXP-33 based wheel will have been assembled for 700x 25-28 slicks. Suggestions? |

First thing, see if you can haul the rim back over so it retains a central position. It sometimes works. Next pul over by the spokes theselves in the direction you want the rim to go. If this doesn't settle the wheel in its proper position you need to get a nipple kkey on it. In the area where the defection is pluck the spokes on the other side to the deflection, if any sound low in comparison to up to 1/4 wheel around, this/these are the ones that need nipping up. Go 1/2 turn and check for rim position, move to other low pitched spoke(S) and do the same. Get some linseed oil and drip it into the nipples to act as a threadlock to save the bother of doing it again. |
