I can't make heads nor tails of it.

They're either winning or they are not. What's up with the
psychodrama? No one's forced to ride for a national team.

What this demonstrates is the effects of the Millennial Generation upon everything. There has ceased to be the ability to think among them. They are a hive mind connected through Twitter.

It sounds very much as though the "New Guys" are making alibis, in
advance, for what they believe will be a bleak future.
