Just to even out the ' motorist hurts cyclist' brigade.

See http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-sto...5875-21948102/

Good job she had lights, unlike most cyclists.

Indeed. I always use at the very least a flashing rear light [1] but there
is no requirement for cyclists to "have lights" and many would argue that
there is no need during daylight hours.

[1] Note that most drivers drive with their lights off, apart from at night
or in rain or fog.

Yes it is worth noting as something of a rarity when a motorist is
seen behaving like a human being towards a cyclist for a change.

In return, I have helped push start many cars over the years when
their fellows drivers have not.

I'm glad I don't inhabit your world, Doug.

The usual utter bilge from Doug. Since my car was buried in snow and
the road it was on pretty-near undrivable, I cycled the 4 miles to the
supermarket and 4 miles (and 400 foot uphill) back. I was way out in
the carriageway most of the time, having to ride in the cleared ruts,
often even on the wrong side of the road. All cars behind were
patient, waiting till I could get across far enough to let them pass.
I even got a wave from the guy driving his open-top car, and a number
of "you're brave" comments from pedestrians (to which my response was
"or mad").

Was she wearing a helmet? She was knocked unconcious and suffered head
injuries, so probably not.

And what about a reflective vest and lights and reflectors as well as
a helmet and was she riding on the pavement at the time while going
through a red light? If not she was obviously asking for trouble and
deserved everything she got! How terribly kind of the motorist to help
her under the circumstances!

You are really an idiot, what the motorist did is help a fellow road
user who was in distress, something that I and I hope all road users
would do.
Would you help a person who was in distress (if you were able), no
matter what form of transport they were using?, I have, in the past & I
hope that I would in the future.
