Default A french anti-french conspiracy ??

Allthough France has had some successes in soccer, it happened only
once that a french club won the european Cup. This was in 1993 when
Olympique Marseille beat Milano AC in the final. For the record,
Milano's president was Silvio Berlusconi, now italian prime minister
and Marseille's president was Bernard Tapie (you know, the guy who
owned the Hinault-Lemond team a few years earlier).

So a few days ago, a newspaper called "l'Equipe" tarnished this
glorious page of french sport by publishing an exclusive interview of
a former player of Marseille, in which the guy pretended that in
Tapie's times, Marseille's successes owned much to doping and
cheating. Examples included the poisoning of the whole CSKA Moscow
team earlier in the competition, and injecting the whole team some
mysterious substance right before the final (suposedly only the german
Rudi Voller refused the injection).

Now, I am *very* surprised that neither Lance A, nor Tom K, nor
Manolo S, not even Ilan V, nor actually anybody on rbr did not say
anything to defend this brilliant team unjustly accused in this
obvious case of french anti-french chauvinism.

You guys are getting old ?

The French are pretty good in french anti-french chauvinism. For instance,
everybody knows that Lance A. was third on the french list of the most hated
athletes because they hate the USA. So how much must they not hate the
country of number two, which is France?
