Injured Hiker Rescued From Lost Lake Area
http://home.nps.gov/applications/morningreport/
THE MORNING REPORT Thursday, July 15,2010 Rocky Mountain National Park (CO) Injured Hiker Rescued From Lost Lake Area Rangers received a call yesterday afternoon from the International Emergency Response Coordination Center, reporting that they’d received an emergency activation signal from a SPOT device from a point near Lost Lake in the northeast section of the park. Two rangers, one a park medic, flew to the location in a Grand Teton NP helicopter that is in the park to support operations on the Cow Creek Fire. They found a 27-year-old man who’d suffered a broken leg after sliding 30 yards down a snowfield above the lake. He was flown out and taken by ambulance to Estes Park Medical Center. Basically they are young and stupid and taking chances that a mature person would never take. Mountain bikers on the other hand are not taking any chances. They are simply riding their bikes on hiking trails and coming to grief. They are of all ages, not just the young and stupid. Like I said, nice try Bob Berger, but it won't work! Bull****, Most Mountain Bikers that are riding on the Trails, in a wild fashion, ARE Young, Stupid, over-Aggresive Punks, and wouldn't be allowed to ride the sidewalks of any City in the Country. The folks that do peddle along at a slow rate on backwoods trails, because they like the "out of doors" aren't the ones tearing up the trails. It is the same for ATV'ers and Snowmobilers. It is the Young Fools that do the damage not the slow riders, and if haven't or can't to see the difference, you don't get out on the trails much.... Like I said, nice try Bob Berger, but it won't work! Even so, it is quite mature folks in their 30's and 40's riding mountain bikes on single track hiking trails who are injuring and killing themselves. How do you account for that?
