OK, so I'm a newbie... I want to buy a set of slick tires for my Trek 950 MTB for street riding. The knobbies I have now are 2.1 inch. Slick tires come in sizes of 26x1.5 and up -- does it make a difference if I get a skinnier tire? Will it still fit on my rims? Should I even *care* what width tire I buy??? Any recommendations on street tires? How's SBS Nimbus EX or Continental Town & Country? I think that I'd get the Schwabe 47-559 (26 x 1.75) 11100424.01 https://www.schwalbetires.com/bike_tires/road_tires/road_plus but the 26" are out of stock. 26" isn't so common anymore. I wonder if they will ever get these back in stock. |
