Default Hand signals?

What signals do motorists use to show that they are not turning but
going straight ahead?

The only official one is hand raised to shoulder with open palm
forwards, but that's to tell the policeman who's directing traffic
where you want to go. Lack of any other signal /should/ indicate that
they're going straight ahead, but proper use of clear signals in
adequate advance of a manoeuvre seems to be beyond the ability of many
drivers.

I have never seen one.
On the bike I am continually hand-signalling.
Straight ahead: Hand out in front, vertical palm, fingers out straight
in front.

It is the same signal that cyclists make when they are going to make a turn
or change lane: none at all.

The usual hand signal motorists use with cyclists is a one-handed
gesture. It is shown by curling the fingers of the hand into a loose
fist and moving the hand back and forth to mime male masturbation.

Simultneous orange blinking lights on each corner. Often mistaken for a
parking permit.

I think that's related to the horn sound indicating a car about to
perform a right / left hook.

lol!

Does anyone actually enforce double yellow lines any more? I can't remember
the last time I saw a parking warden actually walking down the street
checking double yellows and parking bays, they all seem to zoom around on
little mopeds from car park to car park, listing reg numbers and times.

Try the City of Brighton And Hove, where outright war has been declared
on all visitors to the area (and even residents) who have the temerity
not to have travelled by public transport, where parking costs £6 for
two hours and where enforcement is rigid.

I have the misfortune to be there on business a dozen or so times a year.
