Default Cyclist Found Dead in Cleveland National Forest

The cyclist from Orange County, Calif could not make return home. He took the long
trip in Cleveland National Forest. His plan was start riding 6am and return
home in 5pm before the dark set in. His big mistake was he did not check out the weather report. He did not see the storm was coming and did not prepare for rain and cold. He got lost around incoming stormy weather in dark. The last contact he made was calling his wife he was having hallucination and could not tell the location where he got lost. And the phone called end.. His wife called County police search & rescue team for help. She got no help from the county Police. Next day in the morning when the storm was stop and she and her friend went out search him and found him dead in the forest...

A bit more than hallucinations.
During their last cellphone conversation, he told her he had
fallen and he couldn't remember much.
"His speech was low and slow, and his response was delayed,"
she said. "I had to ask him things twice. He seem disoriented."

Marin’s hands were on the handlebars and his feet were on the
pedals. The bike was leaning against the side of the hill.
Marin was purple, and he was dead.

I would guess(tm) he had crashed and received a concussion or some
manner of head trauma. His inability to determine his location or
ride effectively may have been caused by vision problems or mental
impairment from the possible crash.

When in extreme cold, the tendency is to fall asleep, not to stop
frozen in place, leaning against a hillside while still on the
bicycle.

When the heart stops, the blood pools in the lower parts of the body
causing those areas to turn reddish purple. The lips are the first to
turn purple followed by splotches on the legs after about 2 hrs. As
usual, the press description is useless for determining the time and
manner of death. He was wearing shorts so I guess the purple refers
to the legs. I guess we wait for the coroners report.

Full disclosu I used to work in a mortuary when I was in early
college and later fixed radios on Santiago and Modjeska peaks in the
Cleveland National Forest.
