Shifters for handicapped riders?
Hello,
I'm setting up a Lightfoot tricycle for a handicapped rider. In addition to balance issues, she has very limited use of her right hand. The Lightfoot tricycle has two rear derailleurs (we just wouldn't install the front one.) Are there any eight-speed controls available for a person who can only shift with her left hand? These usually go on the right, but, in this case, that's not an option Thanks in advance. Jones |

Jones I know nothing of this tricycle. But how about a bar-end shifter? Awkward on the stock bars, but fine with a Paul's thumbie adaptor. Alternately a Gripshifter mounted upside down. |

On one of her bikes (8spd) we use an inverted SRAM gripshift on the left hand bar and on the other bike (7spd) a Shimano lever type thumb shifter. Marcus |
