Why not just take a screen shot of the frame?

Pause the mov at the point where you want to take the picture, press the
"print screen" key, then go into some photo program (even MS Paint) and
click "edit" and then "paste".
If the movie is not playing full screen you can then crop around the
movie to get the extra stuff out of the picture.

I've had the same problem with mov files. Mango's solution didn't
work, the area where the vid was playing (paused) appeared as black. I
ended up pausing the video, taking a shot of the screen with a digital
camera and editing that. It worked, two examples are at the bottom of
www.xs4all.nl/~klaasbil/sem_teresa.htm.

The Apple's QuickTime player for Windows will do it. Pause the video
and go Edit - Copy. That will copy that frame to the clipboard. Paste
the picture into your favorite graphics program and save it as a JPG.

Hey sorry fellas. You're right, the screen shot of a mov does just leave
you with a black box. I just assumed that since it worked with
avis that itd work with movs. ohh well

I can back up John Childs' response. I just tried it and it works just
fine.

Sorry once again.
