NEWS FLASH: AUSTRALIAN WOMEN ROAM FROM CITY TO CITY IN SEARCH OF FREEDOM FROM MEN IN OBSCENE CYCLE CLOTHING. Scientific studies (http://www.notaurl.com/) have shown that women are moving around Australia at an ever-increasing rate in order to escape men cycling around in ludicrous, offensive clothing. This trend was first noticed by a knick-wearing character in Melbourne, known only as "hippy". However, the originally planned permanent migration to Brisbane was foiled when the women discovered that men there had also fallen into the habit of wearing this obscene attire. Due to the hot conditions in Brisbane (http://www.bom.gov.au), men have taken it one step further. Many insist upon wearing obscenely small triathlon singlets, usually obtained from one of the major corporate team triathlon events. Others choose ironman singlets unzipped down to the navel level, exposing chest hair, body fat and lint from an elusive source. Government spokesperson V. Stupid said that it was crucial to form a plan to prevent this continued travel of women around the country, lest they create a vortex and transport the entire country to the other side of the universe. T I need sleep. I blame it on hippy. Not really. |

Sorry Hippy, you know I win the biggest arse competition! I have been cultivating mine over winter. You've got no chance. Ooo err! JPG!!! :-) -- Regards. Richard. |

"Michael Warner" wrote in message ... I was chased down and cut off /twice/ by a taxi recently after tapping on his window to let him know what I thought of his driving (he tried to squeeze into a non-existent left-turn lame and got stuck, forcing me onto the footpath). I made a mental note of his plate and reported it to the cops, who aren't taxi drivers' biggest fans. However, I probably won't try that again. Taxi-drivers who do llegal actions on the road, endangering others, can find themselves in deep **** with the cops if they are reported. I was once given the choice of a warning from police or prosecution and loss of license for the offending taxi-driver that I had reported. Cheers Peter |

I swear that there were Stuart about two feet between it and me. _That_ was unnerving. I had a truck skin my knuckles once. I just about crapped myself. I was waiting at a traffic light in Sydney, a good 2 m or more in front of a light truck. They would have had to have seen me. Anyway, I went right (both lanes were right turning lanes), and I was very close to the gutter. Right after the right, is a left bend (how's that for a sentence?). The truck turned left while overtaking me. I got sandwiched between the curb and the truck, and my foot got caught on something. This is a real funny discussion. Monty Python could make quite something out of this thread! Cross between the 'Cycling tour of North Cornwall' and the 'We used to dream of living in a cardboard box' sketch. Great stuff guys. No fair it should work for you. :-) -- A: Top-posters. Q: What is the most annoying thing on Usenet? |
