According to this article, this motorist swerved clear across a
two-lane road, hit a cyclist head-on, and then fled the scene. The
victim is listed in critical condition.
If they catch him, I hope the charge is attempted murder.

After some neat detective work, the Salt Lake County Sheriff has
caught the puke:

So far, all they've charged him with is leaving the scene of an
accident. I hope the victim gets a real good lawyer and sues the socks
off the driver.

Actually, according to the article, they have also charged him with
tampering with evidence and obstruction of justice. His girlfriend has not
been charged with anything, so far, but... She got out of the car, with the
driver, looked at the victim, and then got back in and fled with him.
Wouldn't she also be guilty of leaving the scene?
