Well, it's certainly interesting, and I very much like SRAM's MTB stuff.
You can only release one gear at a time, which seems to me a slight
disadvantage. Being able to 'pull' three gears at a time is good, though
- in practice this is as much as I ever really do with a Campag set up,
even though in theory you can do more. The internal cable routing is
also good - significant advantage over Shimano designs. The 1:1 pull
ratio is also good because it makes adjustment a lot less finicky. It
looks as if you can't trim the front mech, though, which isn't great.

But yes, more competition in this area has to be a good thing!
