Good article. Here's what I got out of it. If you are trying to burn
fat, then eat in a somewhat fasted state. Reason: Because if you eat a
meal containing carbs 30 go 90 minutes prior to your ride, then you will
primarily burn carbs for fuel rather than fat.

it tells you how many times a week to exercise fasted. not all the time.
also, interesting point about why fatter people will usually fail if they do
not do it a certain way. I did not realize it fat burning was a self
fullfilling prophecy ie thinner fit people burn fat faster. predisposed to
it so it takes time and practice folks doing it the right way

I usually go on 3 hour rides (or longer). Before riding, I eat
protein---scrambled eggs, cheese, bacon---something along those lines. I
used to eat cereal but the milk in my gut would make me nauseous while
climbing tough hills. There's nothing like wondering if you will make the
top of the hill or vomit first....or wondering if you can vomit while
standing up riding a bike.

You don't have to go out "in a somewhat fasted state", you just have to plan
on not eating carbs first.

It might be a good idea for fatter people since they would not know what
hungry is and that is why they get that overweight. Over and over and over.
The article is not just for fat people though.
