Default Sth Gippsland ride

I'm organising a ride from Foster, Sth Gippsland to Sandy Point. Looking at
cycling from Foster along Foster-Promontory Road, Crossing
Meeniyan-Promontory Road and continuing along Soldiers Road until it meets
Waratah Road and then into Sandy Point. Coming back would like to take an
alternative route turning off Foster-Promontory Road into Black Swamp Road
and then left into Fullers Road to get back to Foster.

Any thoughts on road conditions, gradient and whether this is a good route
or not would be appreciated.

I've ridden the Foster-Promontory Road from Foster to after the
Meeniyan turnoff (towards Fish Creek), and then turned right just
afterwards towards the Waratah Bay / Sandy Point road. That route to
Sandy Point is generally flattish. Sandy Point itself has a great
little cafe to stop off for a coffee.

Coming back, I don't know the route you describe, but I've ridden the
road frmo Sandy to Fish Creek and then to Foster. The road to Fish
Creek is a touch narrow and dead-ish in sections, with a couple of
notable undulations, but nothing steep (5%). Coming out of Fish
Creek, there are some small undulations, the final (mild) climb has a
great view out over the bay to the north of the Prom, and the downhill
into Foster is a ripper. About 55k or so, all told.

Traffic's pretty scarce around those parts, but anywhere you turn, it's
almost certain to be windy (the wind farms at Toora are there for good
reason!). It's one of my fave rides; there's wonderful countryside
through the trip. Great choice of area, enjoy.
