Not Guilty Plea In Stevens Creek Trail Attacks

Woman Attacked On Mountain View Trail
(11/30/2009)
A San Jose-area transient pleaded not guilty in Santa Clara County
Superior Court in Palo Alto Wednesday morning to charges stemming from
attacks on women along a Mountain View trail late last year.

John Detches, 32, faces two counts of assault with intent to commit
felony, two counts of false imprisonment, and one count of kidnapping
to commit sexual offense. All are felonies.

Detches was arrested on Dec. 7, 2009, on Stevens Creek Trail where, a
week earlier, he had allegedly attacked a woman as she jogged,
according to police.

The victim told police that on Nov. 29, an attacker blocked her path
near the Dana Street overcrossing, picked her up in a bear hug and
carried her toward some bushes along the creek, police said. The
victim scratched his face and fought him until he dropped her and fled
on a green mountain bike.

The woman was not injured and called 911 afterward.

The other charges stem from two other incidents along the trail
earlier that month. A woman in her 20s came forward and said that a
man had approached her and grabbed her arm along the trail on Nov 25.
She yelled at him and he fled on his bike, police said.

On Nov. 12, a 24-year-old woman reported that she had been jogging
when a man approached her and grabbed her shoulders, police said. She
pulled away and elbowed him in the stomach, and he fled on his
bicycle.

Detches had previously been convicted of felony attempted robbery and
felony assault with a deadly weapon.

A preliminary hearing date for Detches was set for Aug. 27 in Palo
Alto.

So, what are you saying by posting this? Are you saying that what you did
isn't all that bad relative to this?

Here is MA pretending that these newsgroups are just a chat room. Surely
there is somewhere on the Internet where he could go to be with his fellow
criminal idiot mountain bikers and not bother us intellectual superior
types.

So, what are you saying by posting this? Are you saying that what you did
isn't all that bad relative to this?

Why the hell don't you ask me what I am saying? I am saying you are a
****ing jackass who doesn't know **** about anything. Why don't you pose
your query to the criminal idiot mountain bikers who were where they weren't
suppose to be on that hiking trail? The reason you don't is because you are
a ****ing jackass who doesn't know **** about anything.

You are known by your associates. I am putting you right along side of all
the other criminal idiot mountain bikers.

By the way, mountain bikers who ride their bikes on hiking trails are not
people, they are criminals and idiots. Hence, my apt description of the
whole tribe of such miscreants ... criminal idiot mountain bikers (all one
word).

That makes you a criminal because you associate with a known axe murderer --
or would-be axe murderer if the Prozac had not kicked in in time.

You associate with a certified whack job, that makes you a whack job too.

For a guy that foregoed a wife and kids in favor of the pursuit of
education, you have much to learn about saying **** that should not be said.

Well, well, so Mikey is a vagrant now? Or did he get WiFi access while
waiting for his trial and snuck in a post?

Snip.. don't miss that court appearance... (JUL-9-2010 @ 9:00am PST)
or you'll be back in jail.. ~2 minutes from now...

Then again, I'll bet the judge imposed some conditions on your bail.
And you've probably just broken them by posting on the internet again.
