One of the worst road rage experiences I've experienced was in
downtown Vancouver BC (out of town visit), to my great surprise. I
had a green to cross an intersection, I was in the right lane. A
woman turned right from the crossing avenue into my lane and nearly
hit me, she was looking right at me as she did this. We exchanged
a few choice words to say the least - but she was yelling at the
top of her lungs and basically threatening me. I've experienced
many road rage incidents over the years but that one stands out
more then any.

There is a great deal of satisfaction to be gained by just laughing
very very loudly at that sort of person. It's a shameful joy I guess,
but pleasant.

Without getting too detailed there's no need to provoke people,
they're ****ed off for some other reason usually - angry at life or
something .

I suppose, but laughing is fun too.

Ridicule is not the way to win friends and influence people
(positively).

So?

You may find this a pleasant idea while others take
equal pleasure in insulting name calling, using crude language, as we
see here on RBT. I don't see a benefit, long or short term.

My pleasure is not a benefit?

And actually the laughing worked for me once in terms of influencing
people - the people with the dude ranting at starting looking really
really embarrassed at him when he became more enraged. So I
influenced them at least. It was fun.
