Really?
I thought the air-con, hi-fi, cup holders, comfy seats and so on made
them a veritable travelling Sultan's boudoir.

Do you have someone tie your shoe laces every morning?

I can't believe how stupid you are. Look up 'artificially' and then try
again.

So far, the car-haters have mainly concentrated on bullying drivers by
changing factors external to the car itself. However, that's not to say
that they won't eventually move on to sorts of things that you list
above. Their petty unpleasantness knows no bounds.

Yes, it's all a fiendish worldwide plot, apart from your beloved USA.
Wait though, what is their usual maximum freeway speed limit?

So "they" are going to start banning air con, stop drivers listening
to music and replace the seats with a bed of nails, with a hair shirt
as the back rest?

65, and it's very often radar enforced. It's also common to find six and
eight lane roads with a 35mph limit. Also the road surface is cratered
like the moon, congestion means you're lucky to average 55 on the
freeway much of the time and you can get two or three separate law
enforcement agencies enforcing the law on any given bit of road.

Depends on the state.

Which one were you "thinking" of?

Or did you think that there was a federal limit (perhaps of 55)?

Well, you were wrong (again).

And Nuxxy claims that he holds the USA as the most motorist friendly
in the world.
Those speed limits don't look like the free for all he thinks they
are.

There are an awful lot of cars in the US, for sure, and some of them are
incredibly big, but the places I've driven (Boston, NY, Philly, Bay
Area, so only coastal conurbations, not the heartlands or deep south)
have had traffic micromanagement rather than traffic management.

Peds are also regulated to hell and back. It's an amazingly prescriptive
roadscape.
